Why Resistance Bands
The benefits of resistance band training have been known for years by elite athletes and have been used in many fields including weight loss, power lifting, sprinting and martial arts. The secret to resistance band exercise is a simple one; as the band is stretched, the resistance increases. This resistance provides a progressive stimulus to the muscle to build strength and help increase muscle mass.
FROM SUPER LIGHT WEIGHT FOR REHABILITATION TO EXTREME WEIGHT FOR MUSCLE BUILDING. This means that grandparents and pro athletes alike will be able to get the best workout of their life, from one amazing system.
•Resistance bands can strengthen neglected muscle groups: Resistance bands can strengthen the muscle groups which are normally neglected by free weights or machines.
•Inexpensive: Resistance bands are an economical option as they do not cost as much as free weights.
•Portable: Useful for home workout and while travelling.
•Suitable for all fitness levels: Resistance bands vary based on their resistance levels and by how far you stretch them, which allows them to be used by a beginner or a pro.
Common Questions about Resistance Bands
Can you build muscle using resistance bands?
Sure you can. Muscles build after you stress them enough that it causes repair. The repair leads to growth, with an adequate diet of course. As long as your muscles reach point of failure then you’re on your way to building muscle. Resistance bands can be stacked as hard as you like, from 12 lbs to over 300 lbs!
Are resistance bands as good as free weights or machine equipment?
Your muscles don’t know the difference between free weights or machines. So why would it even matter? As mentioned above, if you’re interested in muscle growth, go to failure and you’ll grow or if you’re chasing a lightweight high rep workout for burning fat and adding muscle tone, they will work just as well. I would argue resistance bands provide a better range of motion than free weights or machine equipment and that will give you a better overall result in the long run.
